It has been quiet for some time.

But now The First Miles, is finally ready to present the second album with hand-played and dusty barn-rock and bleeding country ballads.

On Monday the 21st of September 2009 'Ride Against the Wind' will be released
– an album that has been four years in the making and exudes of melancholy and open spaces.
The sound is worn and full of longing and leans beautifully up against the lyrics, which is about winding your way through love, grief, mud and light rain.

- It sounds so grand, but in reality it’s just about feeling alone, drunk, filled up, abandoned or momentarily happy – emotions most people are familiar with, says Jeppe Foldager, who writes the songs in the band and submits his raw vocals to the lyrics.

- The only difference is that we get it down on paper and out through the speakers.

The Aalborg-bands music is reminiscent of Bruce Springsteen, Lucinda Williams and Whiskeytown, and has already found its way to listeners across most parts of the world. Their first album 'Aim for the heart, go!’ came out in Scandinavia, USA and Canada in 2005 and received high praise from both critics and audiences. The First Miles were played on Canadian, Dutch and Belgian radio stations, and were at the time hired to play with artists like John Fogerty, Tim Christensen, The Sandmen and The Georgia Satellites. Now they are here again.

- After four years in the studio we are ready to take on all the bars, scenes and festivals – and maybe a stadium or two as well, smiles Jeppe Foldager.

Along with the rest of the band he is locally known for engaging concerts - instigating boot stomp, air guitar and hot kisses.

The new album is released through the band's own record label, Little Bad Bear, and is distributed by At:tack Music, Labelkollektiv and American It's a Trap Records.
